Born in Shiraz, Iran. Lives and works in London. 1973: Arrived in Britain, having studied drama in Iran. 1976-79: Chelsea School of Art, London. Graduated as a painter, but turned to three-dimensional work within the year. Her sculpture is rooted in the mysticism of Islamic culture, but demonstrates a quest beyond cultural limitations. 1979-80: Became junior Fellow, Cardiff College of Art, Wales. 1980: First solo exhibition, Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff since when she has exhibited regularly in solo and mixed exhibitions in Britain, Europe and America. 1982: Kettle's Yard, Cambridge.
