Biography
Was born in Mozambique. His work is influenced by the conceptual art, very connected to nature and to poor materials and with a poetic component linked to memory. The artist said “ I’m interested in light, in time’s geometry, in irreversibility of thought. I work on metrics and elements of an pre-existent heritage, either natural or constructed, than can be water line, a demolished wall, or even wind…” His exhibitions – namely in Lisbon at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, at the Museu de Historia Natural and at the Museu da Cidade; in Oporto at the Museu de Serralves and in England where he was invited by Ingrid Swenson to make a sculpture for the Economist Plaza in London, later shown permanently at Brighton University Carlos Nogueira also presented his work in Brasil, at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo, at the Museu de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
